A large Pit River loom beaded bag, Ca first quarter 19th century

$1,950.00

This is a stunning bag from the Pit River Indian tribe of California. Measuring eight by eight inches, with a six inch flap plus an inch or so of beaded fringe. It has a 34 inch carrying strap beaded in a round rope style. Most of the bags of this type that I’ve seen over the years are about one quarter the size of this one. Bead colors are rose red, “greasy” yellow, “pony trader” blue and a transparent gold/ amber. A beautiful example of Native American beadwork from the Pit River Tribe of California.
