Sac and Fox ( Mesquakie ) moccasins, ca. 1890
A pair of Sac and Fox ( Mesquakie ) front seam moccasins, circa 1890, collected in 1927 by Roy H. Robinson. An attached tag, written by the collector, states: “Recv’d 1/24/27 Sac & Fox beaded moccasins belonged to John White Fish, a very, very old man”. The large beaded cuffs are typical of Mesquakie moccasins of the period.
